Over 400 people came out to Bucks County Technical High School in Bristol Township on Saturday for the cosmetology department’s City of Hope fundraiser.
The event raised $8,299 for the City of Hope charity, said Shane White, who is BCTHS student council vice president and president of the school’s SkillsUSA program. The students were informed Bucks County Technical High School raised the most amount of money out of all schools participating across the nation.

The charity event was held through the school’s SkillsUSA program and “helped our community by providing services at a reasonable cost, but by allowing our students to practice their cosmetology skills to help better prepare them for the world of work,” White said.
The donated money was presented to Harry Giordano, the senior director of development for the City of Hope Northeast Region, on Monday.
“Some clients waited up to an hour to get a haircut, and said they were just happy to help raise money for a great organization, and a great cause. We would like to thank the Bucks County community for all of their support in helping the City of Hope., and for making us the number on high school in the nation,” according to White.
