
Forecasters are predicting temperatures to plummet to freezing levels beginning ย tonight resulting in Bucks County declaring a Code Blue for the next 10 days beginning ย Monday night.
“In response to the anticipated extended cold front approaching the area, the Bucks County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) joins the county Health Department to issue a โCode Blueโ declaration between 7 p.m. Monday, January 20 through 7 a.m. Thursday, January 30. The National Weather Service is predicting several consecutive nights of frigid temperatures, with highs in the mid 20โs and low 30โs and lows in the teens and single digits,” says a release from Bucks County officials.

County Spokesperson Chris Edwards added said ย the 10-day Code Blue declared in longest since the inception of the the initiative five years ago.
Although the declaration begins at 7 p.m. the on-call shelter sites do not open till 9 p.m,. Advocates for the Homeless and Those in Need officials want the public to know.

The scheduled February on-call site is theย Woodside Presbyterian Churchย located at 1667 Edgewood Rd. ย Yardley, PA 19067 ย 1-215-946-2155.
County Emergency Management Director Scott Forster and Health Director Dr. David Damsker have notified local public safety officials of the Code Blue declaration. They advise all residents to be aware of the severe anticipated weather conditions. Please exercise caution if you need to be outside, and stay indoors as much as possible. the release says.

The community is asked to check in on older adults during the period of dangerous weather and that precautionary measures should be taken with pets too.
