A Secret Service official from the Philadelphia Field Office told CBS 3 reporter Liz Hurr the fake bills are prevalent along the I-95 corridor up and down the East Coast.

A poster distributed to regional law enforcement was obtained by LevittownNow.com and says the bills have the following serial numbers on the front:

  • DB016240_ _ A
  • DB124240_ _ A
  • DJ863653_ _ A
  • DJ663653_ _ A
  • FL993241_ _ B

The field distributed to law enforcement also notes that fake bills have a tiny 77 printed on the bottom right of the back.

Little further information was made available by federal investigators.

The Secret Service are asking anyone who receives a fake $100 bill to obtain as much information about the person who passed it before calling local police or the FBI’s Philadelphia branch at 215-861-3300.
