
A Philadelphia man was taken into custody by Bristol Borough police on Wednesday for punching a pregnant woman in the face and then resisting efforts by authorities to arrest him.
Authorities were called to the 200 ย block of Buckley Street for a reported disturbance turning into an assault around 3 p.m. on October 8, court records say.

The victim told police, ย according to the probable cause affidavit, she was in the side yard of her residence when defendant ย Dwayne Stancil, 23, entered the yard, threatened and then punched the victim in theย face, court records say.
A mele of sorts ensued involving the victim’s family members and people who were with the suspect who tried to pull him off the pregnant woman as he continued to threaten her. Stancil, with the help of the people he was with, took off in red vehicle with Pennsylvania tags, police say.
As police were interviewing the victim ,officers noted a contusion and bruising on her face, court records say, she received a call on her cell phone saying Stancil was on the 100 block of Buckley Street. Officers converged on the vehicle and the victim identified her attacker for police, court records say.

Stancil, according to police, resisted ย being taken into custody which led officers to taking Stancil to the ground in order to gain control of him.
Stancil is charged with, terroristic threats, 2 counts of simple assault, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, and other related offenses and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Bristol Borough District Court on January 22.

According to online court records, Stancil has been summoned to court by mail.
