Towns to Vote on Budgets This Week

Bristol, Falls and Middletown townships are all scheduled to vote on proposed 2014 budgets this week.

taxesMiddletown will come first Monday night. The Board of Supervisors are set to vote on a budget that includes a 1 percent earned income tax (EIT). The proposed budget adds the EIT to offset a roughly $4 million deficit. Residents came out last week to fight against the tax increase, which will impact those who currently draw a paycheck. Despite requests to move the budget vote, the supervisors said they will keep the vote for Monday night. The board meets at 7:30 p.m. inside the township building on Municipal Way.
