The bus hit by a vehicle Monday morning outside the Glen Hollow Apartments in the Croydon section of Bristol Township will be assessed for damage, a district official said hours after the crash.
The bus had to be towed from the crash site, but a full assessment on the damage and cost to repair it has not yet been competed, Superintendent Dr. Samuel Lee reported.

About 40 students were on the bus, but none suffered serious injuries, Lee said. Emergency officials said one child was examined at the scene by medics and released.

Lee told LevittownNow.com a new camera system that captures area in front of the bus while it is driving showed the accident and indicated the vehicle coming toward the bus before striking. It is unclear if weather conditions or snow on the roadway played a role in the wreck.

As of press time, police said the accident remains under investigation.
The bus was operated by Student Transportation of America, the district’s transportation contractor, and involved in the crash at around 9 a.m.

Students on the damaged bus were transferred to a replacement and taken to their planned destination, Maple Shade Elementary School.
