A cavalry of authorities swooped down onto the 300 block of Mill Street in Bristol Borough last Thursday looking to take Bridget Montgomery into custody for charges of unlawfully obtaining a controlled substance, forgery and intent to possess a controlled substance and related offenses.
It took a little doing but Montgomery was eventually taken into custody, police report.

Montgomery is accused of calling the doctor of a woman now incarcerated in Bucks County Prison and posing as the jailed woman in August so she could have prescriptions called into the Rite Aid Pharmacy in Bristol in the other woman’s name, ย according to court records. She is reported to have illegally obtained the powerful drugs Vicodin and Xanax.

On two occasions, August 27 and September 25 , Montgomery went into the pharmacy and forged the women’s signature for the two prescriptions of the controlled substances, as the pharmacist handed them over, court documents say.
Authorities showed up at Montgomery’s home on November ย 7 to arrest her, however, according to witness accounts, she refused to let police gain access to her apartment. ย Additionally, authorities were observed searching a vehicle linked to Montgomery for additional evidence.

Montgomery was arraigned in Bristol Borough District Court ย and sent to Bucks County Prison on 10 percent of $40,000 and is schedule for a preliminary hearing on December 4.
