Matthew Schuler has moved on to the Top 10 on NBC’s “The Voice.”

The 20-year-old Pennsbury grad moved to the next round of the show after Americans voted him through after his rousing Monday night performance on Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” The results were announced on live TV Tuesday night.

Judge Christina Aguilera picked the song for Schuler to perform because she wanted him to get to his “roots.” Both his parents and his grandfather are Christian ministers.

The Lower Makefield resident’s performance was met with praise from all the show’s judges. Tears welled in his mother’s eyes following the live performance.

Schuler’s version of “Hallelujah” has worked its way up to one of the top-selling songs this week on iTunes music store.
