Fire at Bristol Twp. Ramada Inn Caused by Electrical Work

Firefighters ย responded to reports of smoke emanating from the Ramada Inn Hotel on the 5200 Block of Route 13 around 8 :45 a.m.ย on Wednesday morning.

The fire involved a 3-phase electric panel that was being worked on.ย Firefighters kept the fire in-check with dry-chemical extinguishers until the power was shut down, Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said.ย

Some witnesses on the scene said they saw “billowing smoke” spill out of the structure. The electrical fire attracted the attention of many and Newportville, Croydon,Tullytown, Third District and Edgely fire companies were dispatched to the scene, according to witnesses.

Firefighters quickly evacuated 20 occupants from the hotel, Dippolito said. The displaced were sent to their vehicles ย in the parking lot until they were allowed back into the hotel to gather their belongings.

No injuries reported and officials on the scene said PECO had to shut power down to the entire building until repairs were completed.
