A late August accident that forced firefighters to free a man from his car after he collided with a SEPTA bus on Oxford Valley Road and Devon Road in Falls Township was charged via mail summons on Monday in the crash.

The driver of the SEPTA bus told officers he was traveling south on Oxford Valley Road at around 9 p.m. when a car driven by a Fairless Hills man pulled in front of the bus from Devon Road, police said. The bus driver, according to court papers, tried to change lanes but still ended up striking the car.
The force of the crash caused the man’s car to rest in the front yard of a house on the corner of Devon Road, police said.

The man was reportedly unconscious after firefighters freed him from his car. Police said he was incoherent when asked where he was coming from and going to, police said.
The man suffered injuries in the accident and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Blood test came back from the Bucks County Crime Lab and revealed that the man had marijuana in his system at the time of the crash, police said. Court documents show that his license was suspended at the time.
The 32-year-old was charged with two counts of DUI, accident involving death or personal injury and two summary traffic violations. The man is set to have a preliminary arraignment before District Judge Jan Vislosky on November 19 at 3 p.m.
