Pennsylvania released a website Friday afternoon that shows how the state’s public schools are performing.

The website – paschoolperformance.org – was supposed to be opened to the public Monday, but reported discrepancies with results from the state’s new Keystone exams.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education runs the site and delayed the launched after school officials noted problems with the numbers. Some schools, like Harry S. Truman High School and Neshaminy High School, do not feature scores currently because of the discrepancies.

Here is what shows up on the schools where the data is currently not available:

Academic Performance Data is not currently available due to corrections the school will make in its end-of-course designations for students taking the Keystone Exams. This school’s School Performance Profile (SPP) academic performance data will be available by January 2014. Current data, not corrected for the end-of-course designations, may be available sooner upon request from the Local Education Agency (LEA).

The public can see the rating of each school building in the district they select. The rating is on a scale of 0 to 100. Schools that score a 70 or higher are considered satisfactory.

According to a PennLive.com story:

The department chose not to assign districtwide scores because a purpose of the profiles is to help identify the areas where each school needs to target attention and resources to improve performance rather than measure in a more general way how all schools in a district fared.

State officials went forward with the new scoring system after they received a waiver from the federal No Child Left Behind law in August.

The Associated Press reported that scores will factor into 15 percent of teacher evaluations.
