
The fire at the the Magic Cottage daycare and early learning center in the Levittown section of Bristol Township in which 2 firefighters were hurt has been ruled an arson, according to Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito.
No arrests in the case have been announced.

Investigators were back at the one-story former Thomas Jefferson Elementary School on Appletree Drive and ruled the blaze, which sent flames ripping through a portion of the roof, an arson early Monday afternoon.
Two firefighters were hurt and released following the Saturday fire. At least one fireman was hurt when a fire hydrant exploded out of the ground when an underground water main burst, which several first responders have noted is rare.

Firefighters were called to the former elementary school at at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday after receiving numerous calls, according to scanner reports. The area around the school was filled with people in the area for youth sporting events. The fire reached at least two alarms and was put under control after about an hour. Firefighters trenched the roof, where burning foam and rubber, to stop the spread of the blaze.
After the blaze, Dippolito looked for images of the fire before crews arrived at the scene.

6abc.com reported that 50 students who attend the school will be transferred to a Magic Cottage location in Yardley. The building also houses officers for the Bucks County Head Start program.
