
The Ford Road bridge over I-95 in Bristol Township is set to open Friday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and a Facebook post from Bucks TMA, the two-lane bridge will be open by 4 p.m. on Friday.

The bridge was closed July 2012 as the old bridge was too small to accommodate the widening of I-95 south. The bridge rebuilding project was done by Neshaminy Constructors Inc. of Feasterville, who were paid $5.7 million for the work.
The bridge features two 12-foot wide travel lanes, two 8-foot shoulders and a pedestrian sidewalk on the south side, according to the turnpike commission.
The widening of the southbound lane is part of the I-95/I-276 Interchange project. The first stage of the start of the $500 million portion of the project to connect the Turnpike to I-95. The multi-year project finally completing the nation’s original Interstate Highway System and improving travel through the Mid-Atlantic.

“The $9.7 million Bristol-Oxford Valley and Galloway Road Bridges were opened to traffic in November 2011 and the $7.7 million Richlieu Road Bridge was reopened to traffic last month. The four bridge replacement projects total approximately $27.1 million and are funded solely by Turnpike toll dollars,” according to a turnpike commission press release.
Final work on the bridge caused delays recently on I-95.
