After days of social media posts about alleged abduction attempts in the Levittown area, Morrisville Borough police confirmed Monday morning that they are investigating one such incident that happened Friday evening.
Lt. Thomas Herron told LevittownNow.com that his officers are investigating the attempted abduction of a 10-year-old boy that happened on Melvin Avenue at around 7 p.m. Friday.

The boy reported he was approached by two men in a white work van. The vehicle, which did not have ladder racks, was driven by a white man with a black man in the passenger seat, police said. The boy said the black man, who had a scar on his face, asked the boy if he wanted bubblegum, according to police.

The boy got away unharmed and the suspects also made away, Herron said.

Morrisville officers handled several calls about suspicious white vans in the past few days, however, none turned up the suspect’s van, Herron said.
Bristol Township police were not available for comment on Monday on whether the incident was connected to a possible abduction attempt in Levittown last week.

Falls Township police Lt. Todd Pletnick said there have been no abduction attempts reported in the township. He said there was a suspicious persons call on Friday where a man was giving calculators to school-aged children outside a local convenience store. He said there was no indication it was any thing more than somebody doing something nice.
