The Eddington Fire Company in Bensalem announced that member James J. Curran, 46, was the motorcyclist killed in Wednesday morning’s crash on I-95 in Bristol Township.

The fire company says Curran has been a volunteer since the 1990s.

A crash involving a motorcycle closed northbound I-95 in Bristol Township Wednesday morning.

A person died in the wreck. Authorities have yet to release information on the fatality.
The highway was expected to be closed until lunchtime while state troopers investigate the crash.

At the scene, a dark-colored car with front end damage sat along with the motorcycle said to be involved. No word yet from police on what caused the crash.
PennDOT says police and fire crews were called to the scene at around 9:45 a.m.
The highway was blocked by state police just past the Veterans Highway (Route 413) interchange, as delays filled in behind. The highway was opened northbound starting at the Levittown-Penndel on-ramp.
