State officials announced Tuesday that a mosquito carrying the potentially deadly West Nile Virus was found in Middletown Township.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection did not announce where in the township the infected mosquito was discovered.
Middletown is not the lone town in Bucks County where state officials found a mosquito carrying West Nile Virus in recent days. The state said other mosquitoes carrying the illness were found in Doylestown and Warrington. In recent weeks, mosquitoes that were positive for West Nile Virus have been found in Falls and Bristol townships.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in five people with West Nile Virus will show symptoms, with less than 1 percent developing the most serious illness.
Officials say using insect repellent and wearing protective clothing to prevent mosquito bites c an help reduce the changes of being bitten.
Tyler State Park in Newtown and Northampton townships is set to be sprayed with mosquito pesticides on Wednesday, according to the DEP. Several area in the Levittown region have already been sprayed.
