Police Reveal Details of Drug Sting Operation

One of the 21 arrested in the Operation Summer Wind sweep by Bristol Township Police sold narcotics to a confidential informant on three separate occasions, police say.

From December 21 2012 to April 15 ย 2013, the ย department’s narcotics unit conducted an ย investigation of Jerry Lynch, 53, of Bristol Township, culminating when he was arrested for selling crack cocaine to the ย informant on three separate three occasions, police.say.

On Friday December 21, the confidential informant called Lynch to set up a ย purchase of the drug from Lynch. Lynch instructed the CI to meet him at the 7-11 on the 71oo block of Bristol Pike in Levittown, court records say.

According to police a short while there after Lynch and a juvenile ย identified in court records as “JL” (aged 17 at the time of the transactions) arrived at the 24- hour convenience store, pulling into the parking lot , then going inside the store with the juvenile.ย Several minutes later the juvenile was observed making a hand-to hand transaction with the ย informant, providing him with .86 grams of crack cocaine packaged in a clear plastic bag, police say.

JL walked over to the defendants vehicle entered the passenger side, leaving the door ajar,where he was observed taking $40.00 from the police source, court records say.ย Lynch then came out of the store leaving minutes later, driving off ย with JL, court documents say.

On Wednesday January 16, the Deep Throat of the operation called Lynch to arrange a second buy of crack from the defendant and was told to meet Lynch at the same 7 -11. While driving towards to meet, however, ย lynch called the ย informer ย telling him the meet location was being changed to USA Gas located on the 5900 block of Green Lane in Levittown.

Shortly before 12:20 a.m., the CI made contact with Lynch inside the gas station, as juvenile JL was with him when a transaction for .84 grams of crack cocaine packaged in a clear sandwich bag was made for $40.00,ย After the transaction was made the “JL” and at least one other black male entered the defendant’s vehicle driving away, court records say.

The last of the three purchases ย made by the confidential informant took place on April 15 when he called Lynch and was told by the defendant to meet him at the same 7- 11 on Bristol Pike ย where they had transacted narcotics purchases previously. The defendant arrived at the location as the passenger of a vehicle that pulled into the store parking lot, where an exchange of 1.22 grams of crack from the defendant to CI was made for $80.00, according to court documents.

Lynch, arrested this past Thursday, ย was brought before District Court Judge Robert L. Wagner on four felony possession-distribution charges, and additional endangering the welfare of a minor felony charge ย plus a misdemeanor for corruption of a minor. He was sent to ย Bucks County Jail in lieu of 10 percent of $500,000 bail.

Lynch ย is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 23 in front of ย Judge Wagner.
