Saturday night four young men had sights set on crossing to the island. They set out in a small aluminum boat most likely meant for two people. Speed boats sped by leaving the little boat to rock in the wake.
The crew made it half-way across the river before the boat tipped over. At that time I called 911 and informed the dispatcher what was happening.

The boys slowly made way to shore on the other side of the Delaware River and headed off into the woods.
Bristol Borough Police Department, New Jersey State Police, Bristol Fire Co. and the Park Ranger came to the scene.
The State Police boat waited for the young men to come back out of the woods. He then had them board his boat along with the boat they attempted to cross the river in.

Once he returned them to the Bristol side of the river the park ranger took over.
People from every part of the Wharf gravitated to the scene.
