A building collapse in Center City, Philadelphia killed at least one person and injured more than a dozen others. Unconfirmed reports indicated that a second person was killed in the collapse.
The collapse happened just before 11 a.m. and required emergency crews from around the city to respond. Philadelphia officials said in a press conference aired on KYW-TV at 2:30 p.m. that first responders are prepared to search the ruble for the next 12 to 24 hours.

Emergency radio reports and tweets from several Philadelphia journalist indicated that special K-9 dogs were called to the scene to help search the remains of the collapsed building and the thrift store which it fell onto.
Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter said he was unsure of how many people were in the buildings at the time of the collapse.
A story on Philly.com said the building that fell was currently in the process of being demolished.
