Car parts were taken from several vehicles at a local auto service shop.
Over the weekend, 7 catalytic converters were cut off from the undercarriage of 7 vehicles parked at Scrappy’s Auto Service on East Lincoln Highway in Middletown Township, police said.

The value of the catalytic converters was estimated by police to be $8,400.
Using power tools, catalytic converters can easily and quickly be cut away from the undercarriage of vehicles. The car parts contain contain high-value metals and can be resold online for more than $100.
Over the past two-years, several other area towns have seen thefts of catalytic converters.
