Charges have been filed against a man accused of being drunk when he caused serious Bristol Township car accident that left a woman on life support.
Craig T. Milone, 28, of Shelter Lane in Bristol Township, was arrested and arraigned this week on charges of aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, aggravated assault by vehicle, DUI, and related offenses.

According to police, Milone was driving his 2010 silver Toyota Corolla in the northbound lane when he ran a red light at the intersection of Route 13 and Edgely Road and struck a 1996 Buick Roadmaster driven by a 69-year-old Levittown woman at 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 24. Court documents state that the vehicle driven by the 69-year-old was crossing the intersection of Edgely Road and had a steady green light.
The nasty T-bone crashed was seen by several witnesses and captured by the security camera at a nearby business. Using witness statements, video footage and the final resting positions of the cars, police determined Milone had run the light.
Shortly after the crash, police spoke with Milone and said they noticed the odor of alcohol on his breath, slurred speech and a “glazed look” in his eyes.

Catalytic Converters Stolen From Vehicles
The 28-year-old later told officers he consumed four to five alcoholic drinks earlier in the night, according to court documents. Police said he failed two field sobriety test and they determined he was so impaired that he was not capable of safe driving.

Blood samples from Milone were taken at the hospital, tested and returned to investigators. The samples showed his blood alcohol level was .386 percent, while the legal limit is .08 percent.
The 69-year-old suffered a fractured skill, rubs and numerous other broken bones, police said. According to court papers, she also endured bleeding in her brain, kidney failure and spent several days on life support.
Crews from Bucks County Rescue Squad, Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad, Levittown Fire Company #2, Third District Fire Company and Edgely Fire Company were forced to use mechanical tools to free her from her Buick, which was barely recognizable after the crash.

Milone is free on $25,000 unsecured bail.
