No Bomb Found at Middle School

A Friday morning search of Carl Sandburg Middle School and the surrounding area did not turn up any explosive devices, officials said.

According to a Facebook post from the Levittown school, the building was cleared by police dogs and field day would proceed as it normally does.

Thursday afternoon school officials said in a statement that writing found on a wall in the school suggested that there will be a bomb Friday during field day festivities. They did not elaborate on where the writing was found or what it said.

Middletown Township police were called to the school Thursday afternoon and “determined that the building was safe and the threat was not credible,” the statement said.

Police have yet to comment on the incident.
