A statement released a few minutes after 5 p.m. on Thursday by Carl Sandburg Middle School Principal Dawn Kelly stated that writing found on a wall in the school suggested that there will be a bomb Friday during field day festivities.
Middletown Township police were called to the school and “determined that the building was safe and the threat was not credible,” the statement said.

The school said police will search the building and the surrounding area tomorrow with K-9 dogs to make sure the area is safe for students and staff.
“Our school day will begin on time tomorrow and we will proceed with our Field Day festivities as planned,” Kelly said in a written statement.
In January, police with specially trained dogs searched Harry S. Truman High School in Bristol Township after a bomb threat was discovered. No bomb was found.
