Brooke, the dog left to die in the Neshaminy Creek in Bristol Township in late March, recently had a large tumor successfully removed from her rear leg and is recovering.
According to the Bucks County SPCA, Brooke continues to get stronger as the weeks roll by.

“We will continue to watch and evaluate her, but right now we anticipate placing her only in a home where she can be the special ‘one and only’ pet in her new family,” a post on the group’s Facebook reads. Brooke is expected to be placed with a new family in the coming weeks.
Wyatt Erb and his wife saved Brooke after discovering her tied to the creek bed as the water rose.

Brooke, who is believed to be an older dog, was treated for ear, eye and skin conditions after being saved, officials said.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) issued a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who left the dog.
