A 25-year-old Bristol Township man who plead guilty to stabbing his pregnant girlfriend in a Bristol Borough parking lot in April 2012 was sentenced to eight to 16 years in a prison on Friday, PhillyBurbs.com reported.
Glenn Witherspoon, 25, pled no contest in March to charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and possessing an instrument of crime, court records show. A county judge also declared him mentally ill last month.

Witherspoon told the victim, Jessica Fields, he wanted to watch the sunrise with her on the morning of April 19, 2012. Just a short time later, Fields, pregnant at the time, was bleeding from several stab wounds and fighting for life, according to NBC10.com.
Fields mustered the strength to fight back and get help. She survived the attack and spoke at the trial, an article in the paper said.
