Local resident Frank Obrien, who is working in TV production in Boston, passed along the following message:

Things seem to be calming down, but at the same time, things are growing. They have confirmed bombs were placed in trash cans along the course. There was a 3rd device placed under the grandstands that never went off.

Monday, 4:48 p.m.:

Eric Bofinger and Martin McMahon, both of Langhorne, have posted on Facebook that they are safe.

Monday, 4:21 p.m.:

Boston Police are telling the media two dead, 22 injured.

My fiance is working the show and I tagged along with him. We were at the start line so we are okay but all that is really certain as of now is that two bombs were placed by the finish line and went off within 20 seconds of each other. Every time they mention grave injuries or deaths the number increases. I will keep you posted as I find more out.

At least two explosions have rocked the Boston Marathon finish line in Boston, Mass.

According to emergency radio reports from the scene, dozens of people were injured in the explosions and a mass casualty incident has been declared.

Boston authorities are investigating a possible explosive device not to far from the scene of the blast as of 3:30 p.m. Monday.

A website devoted to race results reports at least two local men registered to run the race, both were residents of Langhorne.

Photos circulated on Twitter show blood on the sidewalk where the explosion took place. CNN.com reported smoke filled Copley Square the explosion, which happened at approximately 2:45 p.m.
