SUV Snaps Pole, Road Closed in Fairless Hills

A one-vehicle accident closed Lincoln Highway (Business Route 1) in Falls Township Monday afternoon, police said.

A middle-aged driver was not seriously hurt when his SUV slammed into a pole and snapped it in front of the old Hidden Valley Veterinary in the 100 block of Lincoln Highway in the Fairless Hills section of the township, Lt. Todd Pletnick said.

The road was closed between Oxford Valley Road and Spencer Avenue due to low-hanging wires caused by the wreck, Pletnick said. He added that PECO crews were at the scene as of 4:45 p.m. and working to open the road.

Pletnick said drugs or alcohol are not suspected in the accident.
