A man is under arrest on charges that he beat his girlfriend at a Bristol Township apartment Saturday night.
Joseph Beynon III, 24, of Bensalem, is charged with simple assault, theft and harassment.
Police responded to the Levittown Trace apartment complex in the 3000 block of Ford Road at about 7:30 p.m. to find a woman holding a ripped shirt against her otherwise naked body, according to court documents.
Police said they arrived to find the woman with fresh blood wiped from her mouth to her cheek, swelling on her upper and lower lips, red marks on her throat and three fingernail marks on her upper right arm.
When speaking with officers, the woman told them Beynon, her boyfriend, punched her in the mouth and nose before delivering several kidney punches. She also said the 24-year-old strangled her to the point where she may have lost consciousness.
The woman told police that she went to the bedroom after the assault to call a friend. Beynon made entry to the bathroom, took her smart phone and left the apartment, police said.

The woman told officers Beynon had assaulted her previously.
Beynon is already facing trial on charges of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct/engaging in fighting stemming from a September 2012 incident.
Court records show the 24-year-old was sentenced to probation in 2010 after a case where he was charged with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
Beynon is currently in Bucks County Prison on 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
