According to a Middletown Township Police press release, a resident received a phone call yesterday from long distance a phone number stating they had won a large sum of money.
The caller advised the resident that in order to receive their prize, a Green Dot Visa Card worth $500 dollars would need to be purchased and a call back for validation had to be completed.

Intended victim contacted a local store and was advised it was a scam.
The resident ceased further action.
Middletown Police advise the public not to comply with these types of phone calls, because once the validation code is provided the funds will be removed from the card.
