Lee, who replaced the retired Ellen Budman,ย initially signed a three year contract in 2010 for a salary of $137,500.
Lee ย told board members he was “proud” for the “opportunity,” according to residents who attended the school board meeting.
The superintendent is leading the district through aย $152.6 million proposal which will build three new elementary schools and renovate two middle schools.

The plan has been met with resistance by many residents and a meeting last month about the project was packed. Some residents said the project was impact their already high taxes.
Lee’s tenure was also spotted by the district’s bus problems, which plagued the district throughout much of the first part of the 2012-2014 school year.
