Green, while passionate about serving up local favorites to customers in Penndel, has also been passionate about providing for his community. He has collected coats and winter clothes, backpacks and school supplies for needy children, assisted the Redeemer Lutheran Church with donating and preparing food for the shared meal program, donated meat, dairy products and vegetables to the church’s food pantry and the Mayor’s food drives, and helped fund raise for the local fire department as well as other deserving organizations.
Green, who has owned his store since 2005, has even carried his charitable spirit over to his business. Every sale of a sandwich on one of his famous pretzel rolls donates $.25, and half of the sales of his t-shirts go towards feeding the hungry.
โI work hard, but I believe in helping people who need it,โ Green said in a recent ‘People of Levittown’ story on LevittownNow.com. โIf I can be positive in someoneโs life, itโs worth it.โ
