A Langhorne man is preparing to “destroy all the food in [his] path” in this Friday’s Wing Bowl in Philadelphia.

Dimitry Shchupak, also known as the ‘Ukraine Train’, was born in Kiev, Ukraine, and moved to the United States at just four years old. “[My nickname” comes from when I was in middle school playing football,” Shchupak told LevittownNow.com. “I used to run through everyone in my path and my best friend nicknamed me the Ukraine Train, which ultimately became my handle for competitive eating, as I destroy all the food in my path.”

The city, which will celebrate it’s 24th Wing Bowl this year, will feature many competitive eaters, all attempting to beat their personal and each other’s records. Shchupak, is no different, he launched his efforts into this year’s Wing Bowl by eating 12 soft tacos from Taco Bell in just under three minutes.

Shchupak said he’s always had the gift.

“I got into competitive eating way back at Wing Bowl 19 when I saw Kobi do a cheesesteak at halftime in 24 seconds,” he said. “Prior to that record setting eat, the time was 48 seconds, which I told my friends i could do easily. All my friends didn’t believe me so on Sunday, during the Super Bowl, they challenged me to do it. I finished it in 49 seconds, which basically got me started in competitive eating. I tried out for Wing Bowl 20 the following year.”

For Shchupak, Wing Bowl 24 is promising to be his best. “Wing Bowl 24 will be the most competitive Wing Bowl yet! There will be broken records across the board, including pro, local and college divisions. Get ready for the crazy and intense entertainment that will come from Angelo and Al all the way to the wingettes and eaters on stage. Madness, here we come!”
