5 Hurt In Early Morning Head-On Crash

Five people were transported to local hospitals after crash Sunday morning in Bristol Township.

Officers were called to Newport Road near Dixon Avenue at 2:10 a.m. for a head-on crash. A Ford Crown Victoria and a Hyundai Tiburon were involved in the wreck, police said.

Two people in the Ford and three people in the Hyundai suffered “significant” but not non-life-threatening injuries. Two were taken to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown and three were transported to Aria Health’s Torresdale campus, police told LevittownNow.com.

Officers and fire police shut down Newport Road for three hours while the investigation was underway.

Crews from the Croydon, Edgely and Newportville fire companies responded along with medics from the Bucks County Rescue Squad, Bensalem EMS, Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad and the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad.
