Minivan Crashes Through Fence

At least one person was hospitalized after a one-vehicle crash along Woodbourne Road on Monday morning.

The crash happened around 9:20 a.m. along Woodbourne Road at the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission property, which is between Styer Orchard and Wood Lane in Middletown Township.

The Middletown Township Department of Fire and Emergency Services was first to arrive at the scene. Crews from the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad and the Middletown Township Police Department also responded to the incident.

Police Lt. Zack Brosius said the minivan left the roadway and went through the fence.

The driver is suspected to have had a medical episode and suffered minor injuries, Brosius said.

The crash led to congestion along Woodbourne Road, which was further compounded when a stopped train halted vehicles at the nearby Woodbourne Train Station.
