
A fire at a recycling center in Falls Township caused a large plume of smoke to be visible from Hamilton, New Jersey to Bensalem Saturday afternoon.
The fire happened at a recycling pile behind a large industrial building in the 200 block of Lincoln Highway around 12:30 p.m.

Fairless Hills Fire Company Chief Keith Bidlingmaier said the pile that caught fire was filled with various pieces of scrap and electronics.
Firefighters from around the Levittown area rushed to the scene and were able to extinguish the flames, according to a fire official.
The smoke cloud was black as night and descended more than 100 feet into the crisp blue sky.

Bidlingmaier said the fire did not extend to the nearby building.
