

A 16-year-old boy has been charged as an adult after an alleged armed robbery that left a victim pistol-whipped and stripped of his sneakers.

Bristol Township police were dispatched around 4:06 p.m. on Oct. 2 to the 1000 block of Miller Avenue in the Croydon section of the township.
While officers were responding to the scene, dispatch updated responding units that a witness had reported four people who assaulted a friend, with one member of the group striking the victim with a handgun before taking a pair of sneakers.
Officers stopped a youth near Woodlawn and Magnolia avenues.

Police said the teen was carrying a backpack with the stolen New Balance shoes.
The victim identified the detained teenager as the individual who pistol-whipped him and took his shoes, police said.

A black bag containing a Glock 43X handgun and a black BB gun was located a short distance away at the intersection of Magnolia and Cedar avenues, police said.
The victim relayed that the firearm used during the assault felt real, while another attacker allegedly held a BB gun, police said.
Investigators charged the 16-year-old Philadelphia boy with robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of an instrument of crime. A district judge set bail at 10 percent of $100,000.

Police did not disclose in court records whether the remaining three suspects have been taken into custody or charged.
