Three Police Chases; One Suspect Escapes Being Boxed In

Police pursuits on highways in the area led to one arrest and two other drivers managing to elude law enforcement in recent weeks.

On Monday, Sept. 7, Pennsylvania State Police stepped in around 12:30 p.m. to assist Middletown Township police in chasing a white Ford F-150 pickup truck along I-95 southbound near the Bristol Township exit.

State police did not report what initially prompted township officers to pursue the pickup truck.

During the chase, troopers executed a slow-rolling stop maneuver in an attempt to box in the pickup truck.

The driver managed to maneuver around the state police vehicles and speed away from them, troopers said.

After the pickup’s escape, Middletown Township officers and troopers terminated the pursuit.

Middletown Township police are leading the ongoing investigation into the incident.

On Sunday, Sept. 6, troopers attempted to pull over a 2025 Kawasaki motorcycle on eastbound I-295 in Lower Makefield Township.

The motorcyclist fled and led troopers on a two-mile chase before coming to a stop, state police said.

A 25-year-old Philadelphia man was taken into custody at the scene and will face charges related to fleeing, troopers said.

State police also reported a chase on Friday, Aug. 28, on westbound I-295 in Middletown Township.

Troopers said they attempted to stop a black 2013 BMW X5 for multiple violations, but the vehicle failed to pull over.

Troopers called off the pursuit after the BMW crossed the state line into New Jersey. State police stated they were unable to identify the driver of the BMW.
