Pennsylvania State Police said a driver struck a road crew truck in a Falls Township construction zone last week and fled the scene.

The hit-and-run crash happened around 11:26 a.m. last Tuesday along the northbound lanes of Route 13, just past the Lower Morrisville Road exit ramp.
A northbound car hit a 2011 International Harvester truck parked on the right shoulder as part of a short-term roadwork project, state police said.
No workers were injured in the crash.

The driver of the striking vehicle did not pull over and continued driving, troopers said.
The work truck sustained minor damage to its rear end.
State police did not detail the extent of the damage to the fleeing car or a description of it.

State police and PennDOT officials have advised drivers to use caution to protect both motorists and roadside crews in work zones. Lower Bucks County has had several work zone crashes in recent years.
PennDOT data shows Pennsylvania logged 1,393 crashes in highway work zones in 2025. The crashes led to 12 deaths.
According to state law, drivers caught traveling 11 mph or faster over the posted speed limit in an active work zone face an automatic 15-day driver’s license suspension. The same 15-day suspension applies to drivers involved in a crash within an active work zone if convicted of failing to drive at a safe speed.

Fines are doubled in active work zones for specific violations, including speeding, driving under the influence and failing to obey traffic control devices.
In addition, state law mandates up to five additional years of imprisonment for individuals convicted of homicide by vehicle resulting from a work zone collision.
