A license plate reader alert led to a traffic stop and the arrest of a Trenton man wanted on an out-of-state warrant last week along Route 1.

Officers patrolling the area of Route 1 and Oxford Valley Road were notified of the vehicle’s status via an automated reader alert at approximately 4:39 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, according to Lower Makefield Township police.
Responding to the hit, officers from Lower Makefield and Falls townships headed to Route 1 northbound to stop the vehicle.
The officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop with drawn weapons near the Stony Hill Road offramp in Falls Township, police said.

The driver, who was identified as a 35-year-old man from Trenton, was taken into custody at the scene, police said.
The traffic stop briefly disrupted northbound traffic on Route 1 during the evening commute, police said.

After the arrest, the driver was arraigned before District Judge David Chichilitti. He was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility after failing to post 10 percent of a $700,000 bail.
