All students in the Bristol Borough School District will be eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch each school day.

The program requires no application, and parents do not need to take any further action for their children to participate.

The free meals are made possible through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a non-pricing meal service option designated for schools and school districts in low-income areas.

Under the CEP, participating schools do not charge students for their breakfast or lunch.

Instead of charging students for meals, the schools are reimbursed through a federal formula that is calculated using the percentage of students who are categorically eligible for free meals through their participation in other means-tested programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

In a letter to parents, Jennifer White, the districtโ€™s cafeteria manager, said those with questions about the free meals can contact the district at 215-781-1000, ext. 2503.
