Upper Southampton Township officers responded last Wednesday morning to the intersection of Street Road and Willowpenn Drive for a reported incident.

The officers reported they spoke with a man, who is employed as a Bucks County security officer, who said the incident began with aggressive driving along Street Road.

The man provided authorities with dash camera footage of the encounter as vehicles went west on Street Road, police said.

The video footage shows a suspect, who was identified by police as 48-year-old Brian Almond of Levittown, suddenly slamming on his brakes in front of the security officer’s personal vehicle, police detailed in court papers.

When the security officer attempted to switch lanes, Almond cut in front of him, nearly causing a wreck, police said.

When both vehicles stopped at a red light at Street and Willowpenn roads, the dash camera video captured Almond exiting his car, walking up to the man’s vehicle, and firing a stun gun, police said.

Officers reported finding a stun gun at Almond’s feet, with its projectile wire still connected to the probe embedded in the security officer’s vest.

Almond was charged with attempted aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, reckless driving, disregarding a traffic lane, and use of an incapacitation device. Almond was preliminarily arraigned before District Judge Christopher O’Neill, and his bail was set at 10 percent of $350,000. Almond was released from custody the next day after a bail bondsman posted the required amount.
