State Rep. Joe Hogan and State Sen. Frank Farry, both Republicans, announced the funding is being distributed by PennDOT through the federal Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program (TASA).

The Bucks County Planning Commission received $1.4 million to build the Frosty Hollow Trail in the Levittown section of the township.

The project features a 0.9-mile trail segment extending from the entrance of Frosty Hollow Road to Upper Orchard Road, connecting the county-owned Frosty Hollow Park to Middletown Township’s Upper Orchard Park, according to officials.

Middletown Township was awarded $1.5 million for the construction of three new sidewalk segments along Woodbourne Road.

The new segments are designed to close critical gaps, creating a continuous, ADA-accessible pedestrian path.

Once complete, the route will link local residential areas, the Woodbourne SEPTA Station, and the Oxford Valley Mall to enhance safety and connectivity for residents, visitors, and commuters, officials said.

โ€œThe more than $2.8 million in funding will strengthen trail connections between our parks and improve walkways to the Woodbourne SEPTA Station,โ€ Hogan said. โ€œThese upgrades will provide meaningful quality-of-life improvements for our community.โ€

Farry said the projects will improve overall safety and mobility in the township.

โ€œThis $2.8 million investment will improve safety, accessibility, and connectivity throughout Middletown Township,โ€ Farry said. โ€œThese projects will make it easier and safer for residents and commuters to access parks, public transportation and local destinations throughout our community.โ€

The federal TASA program funds initiatives classified as transportation alternatives. Covered projects include infrastructure for improving non-driver access to public transit, on- and off-road bicycle and pedestrian facilities, environmental mitigation, community improvement activities, safe routes to school programs, and trails used for transportation purposes.
