Frank Farry, Steve Santarsiero Draw Challengers For PA Senate Seats

After unopposed primary races, the stages are set for two key area Pennsylvania Senate races.

In the Sixth Senatorial District, incumbent Republican State Sen. Frank Farry will face a challenge from Democrat Eileen Hartnett Albillar, the current Bucks County Clerk of Courts.

Hartnett Albillar, a former Warrington Township supervisor, was elected to her countywide row office in 2023. She previously worked in social work and nonprofit leadership.

Farry, an attorney and the volunteer fire chief for the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, won his Senate seat in 2022. He previously served as a longtime state representative, succeeding retiring GOP Sen. Tommy Tomlinson.

Republicans have held the 6th District seat for years, but Hartnett Albillarโ€™s campaign noted that both Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro and U.S. Sen. John Fetterman won the district during the 2022 election.

The Sixth Senatorial District is made up of the townships of Bensalem, Lower Southampton, Middletown, Northampton, Upper Southampton, Warminster, Warwick, Warrington, and Wrightstown, as well as the boroughs of Hulmeville, Ivyland, Langhorne, Langhorne Manor, and Penndel.

The race for the 10th Senatorial District will pit incumbent Democratic State Sen. Steve Santarsiero against Republican challenger Greg Bankos, a Plumstead Township supervisor.

Santarsiero, who also chairs the Bucks County Democratic Committee, was first elected to the state Senate in 2018. He is a attorney and former teacher who previously served as a state representative.

Bankos enters the race highlighting his background as a township supervisor, youth sports coach, and his religious education.

The 10th Senatorial District spans from Upper Bucks County to Lower Bucks County, including Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, Falls Township, and Tullytown Borough.
