The incident happened at 9:45 a.m. last Wednesday at the BJ’s Wholesale Club in neighboring Falls Township, according to the Lower Makefield Township Police Department.

Police said the resident was approached in the parking lot by two unidentified men traveling in a pickup truck.

The men informed the resident that their vehicle’s bumper was damaged and offered to fix it on the spot, police said.

After the victim agreed to the repairs, they handed over two credit cards for payment. The men claimed that both cards were declined, prompting the victim to pay them in cash instead, police said.

According to police, the victim was contacted by their bank regarding two attempted charges that totaled $1,500.
