Crews were dispatched at 9:56 p.m. to the area behind the Langhorne Borough library branch on Flowers Avenue and the adjoining the Woods Services property for reports of a brush fire.

When they pulled up, firefighters discovered a 20-by-30-foot area ablaze, with flames spreading to a nearby tree, according to Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry.
The tree was already dying and the fire had penetrated its core.
Crews had to cut the burning tree down, Farry said.

The Langhorne-Middletown and Parkland fire companies worked together to bring the fire under control within 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported and no buildings sustained damage, Farry said.
