If you saw firefighters at Pennsbury High School West Wednesday morning, it was due to a science experiment gone wrong.

In a note to parents, Principal Reggie Meadows said a science experiment was being carried out in a classroom when a large amount of smoke from it set off the fire alarm.
The alarm forced students and staff to empty the building in Falls Township and triggered a fire company response around 8:25 a.m.
Fire officials went into the smoky building and made sure it was safe before allowing students and staff to return to their regular schedule, Meadows said.
No injuries were reported.

The principal thanked staff and students for following evacuation procedures in an orderly way. He also commended emergency crews for the fast response.
