
PennDOT’s pothole patrols are hitting local roadways again this week as crews battle the craters that popped up due to the frigid and snowy winter.

PennDOT officials said the crews will be working on 30 state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.
In the Levittown area, crews are targeting Old Lincoln Highway in Middletown Township and Bellevue and Hulmeville avenues in Penndel Borough.
The freeze cycle and precipitation, along with road treatments and traffic, causes potholes to form and grow as warmer weather season moves in.

PennDOT said District 6, which covers the Philadelphia region, has ticketed more than 8,726 customer concerns about potholes.
As part of the annual repair process, PennDOT crews have used more than 7,194 tons of asphalt in the five-county Philadelphia region.

During repair operations, PennDOT crews may close lanes and slow traffic.
“Drivers are reminded to slow down in work zones and refrain from distracted driving to keep themselves and our workers safe,” PennDOT officials said.
