The supervisors authorized to advertise for bids for the 2026 road improvement program

Working with Jones Engineering Associates, the program will feature both full-depth reconstruction and mill and overlay work.

As part of the work, the township plans to reconstruct 3,300 linear feet of Willow Drive and perform mill and overlay work on Olds and Cabot boulevards, officials said.

“We’ll hopefully be able to have a good award and do some paving,” Township Manager John Sheppard said.

The supervisors also authorized bidding for the South Olds Boulevard culvert project.

The replacement has been in development since 2018 but was delayed as officials sought outside financing.

Township Engineer Joseph Jones told the board that the project would finally move forward using local funding after several attempts to secure competitive grants were unsuccessful.

“This has been around for a long, long time since 2018,” Jones said. “But for full disclosure, we were approached. We’re trying to do grant funding opportunities for it and we thought we had a couple of winners but realized that the competition, the competitive nature of the grant funding opportunities, we weren’t successful.”

The project involves a total replacement of the failing culvert system and the restoration of the immediate surrounding area.

The township has set a bid opening date for April 22.

If the township receives and approves suitable bids by that time, construction for both the road program and the culvert replacement could begin by this summer.
