Firefighters in the Levittown area responded to a pair of incidents Friday night, including a fire at a Middletown Township commercial property.

At approximately 8:25 p.m., the William Penn Fire Company and several mutual aid companies were dispatched to the 60 block of Snowball Drive for a possible house fire.
According to dispatch records, a resident reported smoke filling the home after attempting to use a fireplace for the first time in two years.
Dispatchers noted the resident was wheelchair-bound and required assistance.

At the scene, crews discovered embers coming from the fireplace chimney and conducted a search to ensure the dwelling was not ablaze.
No serious injuries were reported, and the majority of units cleared the scene by 9 p.m.

Roughly 30 minutes later, the William Penn Fire Company was dispatched to the 1200 block of Oakland Avenue, which sits off Veterans Highway (Route 413), after multiple reports of a fire.
Dispatch logs indicated heavy fire was coming from a shed adjacent to the commercial building.
The flames reportedly spread into the commercial building.

No injuries were reported in connection with the Oakland Avenue fire.
