Christina Gallo, 38, was preliminarily arraigned Monday on several charges, including drug delivery resulting in death, involuntary manslaughter, theft, identity theft, and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. District Judge John Galloway set her bail at 10 percent of $250,000 and she was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.

The charges follow a Bucks County Detectives and Falls Township Police Department investigation into the Jan. 2, 2025, death of 34-year-old Mary Wells.
Police found Wells unresponsive at the Pennwood Crossing mobile home she shared with Gallo on Dover Drive in Falls Township.

Wells was rushed by ambulance for treatment and was later pronounced dead at Jefferson Bucks Hospital, police said.

An autopsy confirmed Wells died from a lethal cocktail of fentanyl, methamphetamine, methadone, and “tranq,” a powerful veterinary sedative known as xylazine.

At the mobile home, investigators recovered blue wax bags stamped with “sleepwalk,” police said.
According to court papers, laboratory tests later matched the contents of the bags to the drugs found in Wells’ system.
Authorities allege Gallo was the primary source of the drugs and was frequently traveling to the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia to purchase fentanyl for Wells.

Cellphone data and text messages showed Wells was too ill to leave her home in the days before her death, with Gallo making a final delivery of the “sleepwalk” brand fentanyl approximately 16 hours before Wells died, police said.
According to court papers, Gallo used the Wells’ EBT and debit cards for fraudulent purchases and withdrawals after Wells had died.

Wells’ daughter told investigators the stolen funds could have covered funeral expenses. Instead, the family lacked the resources for a proper service.
Detectives said Gallo first tried to frame other individuals for the death, but digital evidence and interviews disproved her claims.

“The details of this case are as heartbreaking as they are infuriating,” Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan said. “Not only did the defendant deliver the very poison that ended the victim’s life, but she then chose to further victimize the family by systematically draining the victim’s financial accounts.”
“People who struggle with substance use disorder deserve our compassion and help, but those who take advantage of their suffering deserve swift justice,” said Falls Township Chief of Police Nelson Whitney.

A second defendant – 44-year-old John “Twitch” Lindsay, of Bensalem Township – was charged Monday in the case.

Investigators allege Lindsay delivered methamphetamine to Wells in the days before her death.
During the course of the investigation, Lindsay sold drugs to an informant in Bristol Borough, police said.

The 44-year-old man faces two counts of possession with intent to deliver and was jailed on 10 percent of $50,000 bail.
